Our beginnings

A calmer home, crafted one thoughtful essential at a time.

BareHome Goods Co. was born in Vancouver, BC, from a simple question: what if the objects we touch every day quietly supported a slower, softer way of living? We design pared-back home essentials that feel good to use, are gentle on the planet, and are made to last in real Canadian homes.

Material-first

We start each design with tactile natural fibres and FSC-certified woods, not trends.

Calm by design

Soft palettes, quiet silhouettes, and just enough detail to feel warm, never busy.

How BareHome took shape

From one cluttered kitchen drawer to a considered collection.

BareHome started as a side project to fix our own overstuffed cupboards. Each year, the idea sharpened: fewer things, better made, with a clear line of sight from raw material to your home in Canada.

  1. 2018 · A small apartment in Vancouver

    Noticing the noise

Long days ended with opening chaotic drawers full of duplicate tools and fraying textiles. We realised the objects closest to our routines were quietly adding stress instead of ease.

  2. 2019 · First prototypes

    Sketching a quieter drawer

We pared the kitchen down to the bare minimum and designed a few simple tools with natural handles, soft textiles, and stackable silhouettes that respected limited space.

  3. 2021 · Partnering locally

    Finding Canadian makers

We began collaborating with small workshops across BC and Ontario, favouring partners who shared our commitment to traceable materials and low-waste production runs.

  4. Today · BareHome Goods Co.

    A calm-first essentials line

BareHome now offers a tight collection of everyday pieces for kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces—each designed to be reached for often, appreciated quietly, and kept for years.

Why "Bare"?

To us, "bare" means essential, honest, and unembellished—not empty. We remove the excess so you can notice the details that matter: how a handle feels in your hand, how a towel dries, how a tray fits your space.

What guides every BareHome piece

Softer on your senses, and on the planet.

We design with a short, transparent chain in mind: responsibly sourced materials, local or near-shore manufacturing where possible, and timeless forms that won't feel tired after a single season.

Responsible by default

We use organic cottons, linen blends, FSC-certified wood, and recycled metals wherever we can, and we publish the material mix for each piece so you know exactly what you're bringing home.

  • Certified organic textiles for core soft goods
  • No plastic coatings on surfaces you hold

Calm-first silhouettes

We limit visual noise by using soft rectangular forms, rounded edges, and a quiet palette of milky whites, warm greys, and clay tones that slip easily into different rooms.

Every line on a BareHome object has a job: stackable, easy to grip, or simple to clean. If a detail doesn't help you use it, it doesn't make it into the final design.

Designed to be repaired

Where possible, we avoid glued-together constructions in favour of screws, replaceable parts, and finishes that can be retouched at home. A scuff shouldn't mean the end of your favourite piece.

Our journal includes care and repair guides so you can keep BareHome pieces in rotation instead of in storage—or the landfill.

Materials we reach for often

Organic cotton, linen-cotton blends, beech and ash wood, recycled stainless steel, recycled glass, and water-based finishes.

We intentionally keep our material library tight. It allows us to understand how each fabric wears in Canadian climates and to keep scraps in circulation across product families.

A day with BareHome

Quiet design that supports your everyday rituals.

We design by stepping through real routines in real homes. A BareHome piece is successful if it disappears into your day—reliable, comfortable, and almost taken for granted.

Morning: small anchors

Your first touchpoint of the day might be a soft, fast-drying hand towel or the tray that holds your coffee mug and favourite mug. Each curve and edge is considered so that you don't have to think about it—you just reach, use, and move on.

Midday: surfaces that breathe

In smaller Canadian spaces, work and rest often share the same table. Our trays, catch-alls, and cloths are designed to reset a surface quickly so you can clear visual noise between tasks.

Evening: winding down

Soft textures, muted colours, and stackable forms make it easier to tidy without a lot of effort. We want your shelves to feel quietly ordered—like a deep breath for your eyes.

Made for Canadian rhythms

From rainy West Coast mornings to dry Prairie winters, we test our pieces in real local conditions—checking for drying time, durability, and how colours hold up in different kinds of light.

Our commitments, in plain language.

We hold ourselves to a clear, measurable standard so you can feel good about what you bring into your home.

Traceable supply

We map our supply chain and prioritise Canadian and near-shore partners, sharing country of origin and key materials for every product.

Small batches

We release new pieces in limited runs so we can test, learn, and avoid overproduction—and we keep classics in rotation rather than chasing trends.

Honest durability

We never promise lifetime use for items that naturally wear. Instead, we publish realistic care guidance and offer repair-minded design wherever we can.
